Have you dreamed of having your wedding in Italy? How about in the stunning Lake Como, Italy? Let's talk about a wonderful Lake Como wedding venue, one of the most stunning venues where the cost is reasonable for 100 guests, well, at least reasonable for the area, where you can create a truly dreamy wedding.



The property is Villa Erba, a beautiful private villa built in 1894 with amazing views of Lake Como, featuring timeless architecture that makes it a perfect Lake Como wedding venue amidst other historic villas in the region.

Let's start by getting to Lake Como. The following airports are close to Lake Como:

• Milan Bergamo (BGY) (51.1 km)

• Milan Malpensa (MXP) (60 km)

• Milan Linate (LIN) (60.8 km)

• Verona (VRN) (144.3 km)

• Zurich (ZRH) (169 km)

From the United States all major airlines including Delta, American Airlines, and United, fly to these airports.

From the Airport you have several means of transportation some are:

• Train - There are several different train stations, some of more local and do not have taxi stands. I recommend asking the concierge at the hotel befwore hand the for the best train location.

• Car Service - You can hire a private car service to take you to your hotel

• Car - You can rent a car, please note that the roads are tight and can be congested in the summertime (Mid-June to Late September)

  
  

Villa Erba is a beautiful standalone villa on Lake Como. It does not have accommodations. However, the Sheraton is a 5-minute beautiful walk to Villa Erba.

Now for the information on the Villa!

Imagine your ceremony with these stunning views of Lake Como in the background. There are 3 private areas to choose from for your wedding ceremony. The first location, which is my favorite, is best for weddings of less than 120 people. Your guests have the opportunity to sit and look at the stunning Lake Como and the mountains in the background while celebrating your wedding ceremony. 

The second location can hold up to 200 people and has a built-in Gazebo that can be decorated with flowers to suit your wedding aesthetics, it does have a lake view but not the view is not the same dreamy view as the 1st locations. The 3rd location is further back on the grass and has slight lake views. It has beautiful views of the trees. The reason I love the first option is that you truly are on the lakefront and the area feels more intimate.  

Imagine your cocktail hour on the upper level of the staircase and the patio with the amazing lake or villas in the background. There is ample room to set-up music perhaps a string quartet or a gutairist and soloists, a bar, tables and a lounge area. As your guests are enjoying a wonderful selection of food they also have a great view of the lake, where I am sure many photos will be taken to share on their social media sites.



The second area where you could hold a cocktail hour is one of the rooms in the main floor of the Villa.  My favorite indoor room has breathtaking views of the lake.  Imagine drinking a cocktail while you watch the sun set behind the lake out of these beautiful windows. Truly a moment to remember!

You have several options for your wedding dinner/reception.  The first is to use rooms inside the Villa. There are 3 unique rooms at the back of the Villa with Lake Views. When the rooms are put together they can hold up to 200 guests. You will want to take note that the rooms are connected with doors that open to each other. But some tables will not be able to see the wedding party, unless you have 80 or less guests. You could use the uniqueness of each of these rooms to create slightly different decor and place settings creating an amazing over all astetics. There is a beautiful room with high ceilings and a view of the second floor at the front of the Villa, with no lake views, that can hold a dinner for 200.



If you want to hold dinner outside there is a lovely grassy area where a tent can be constructed to host a beautiful outdoor dinner and reception.  On outdoor reception would be stunning with the lake and park like views, the venue does require you have a tent when dining outside.

After dinner your guests can enjoy the beautiful outdoors as you move to the outdoor patio facing Lake Como for dancing, cake cutting and other activiteis. Or if you want to dance the night away you can use one of the beautiful indoor venues

Villa Erba has space to create unique guest experiences.  Maybe it is fireworks off the lake while you cut your cake or a limoncello stand to greet your guests as they arrive. The options are endless. 



If you're wondering about the price tag for a wedding of 100 people at Lake Erba you will want your budget to start at $150,000.  Of course this price can vary greatly depending on tenting, menus, flowers, etc.  A general budget guideline is as follows.

The cons of doing a wedding at Villa Erba wedding venue are:

• Limited hours at the venue, you might need to do an extra day for set-up

• A tent is needed if dining outside, which does add at least $40,000 to the cost plus the extra days needs for set-up and teardown.

• No onsite lodging

  
  

Overall Villa Erba is a spectacular Villa with amazing architecture and views, setting it apart from other villas in the region.  A location for a dreamy wedding in Italy. I would highly recommend it for a beautiful Lake Como wedding!
